This 1948 timepieces Limited Edition has been designed jointly with France's Air Force. Inspired by the iconic Superman Heritage, this exclusive military tool watch comes with a steel bezel, a matt black dial, black PVD coated hands and date disc wheel mirroring France's Air Force dark camouflage pattern. The blue-white-red French national insignia used on military aircraft since World War I beautifully replaces the 6 o'clock index and is also stamped on the crown under a crystal coating, while the French Air Force logo is found on the dial and the case-back.
YEMA’S IN-HOUSE MOVEMENT
YEMA's in-house self-winding mechanical movement is entirely designed, developed and assembled at our Morteau workshops in France. It beats at 28,800 vibrations / hour and has a power reserve of 45 hours.

Back in the 1970's, the first YEMA watch made for the French Air Force was designed to equip their Diver Rescuers team but was also used by fighter pilots, hence the dual SEA-AIR features of this unique military tool watch

The 316L Steel caseback proudly displays French Air Force crest beautifully embossed with a hydraulic press. Each watch is engraved with a unique number from 0001 to 1948 regardless the diameter chosen.

I was on the fence, I simmered then it was sold out and I moved on. Then these came back in stock because a distributor had decommitted so this was my second chance and this time I pulled the trigger, of course the new price also helped make that decision easy. Overall I am very impressed with the Air Force 41, it's very well made and finished for the price with significant wrist presence. I wised I had jumped on one sooner. There were 2 issues I saw was the fact that the spring bars were slightly bent for the bracelet to fully engage from the workshop which made me hesitant to remove the bracelet. The bracelet did come off the watch without any damage or trouble thanks to the tweezer style spring bar tool but I did tape the original spring bars to the bracelet in case I ever needed to reinstall it and since they were pre bent I didn't want to lose them. The Yema Spec spring bar were 1.8mm in diameter so you'd be wise to use the same spec, the common 1.5mm would be weaker and not suited for a sports watch but a 2mm would be touch to get it into the strap. The second issue is this watch desperately needs some kind of AR coating. If there is a coating on the inside I am not seeing it and this watch reflects everything. Other than that, it's seems to be a stunning watch. Cheers!

Coup de coeur pour cette très jolie Superman "Armée de l'air Steel". les 39mm du boitier mais aussi la courbure du bracelet sont parfaits pour mon poignet. Le cadran quant à lui est vraiment bien travaillé. Les index en reliefs ne vous lasseront pas et le disque de date a le bon gout d'être de la même couleur que le cadran ce qui ne casse pas l'harmonie de ce dernier. L'heure est lisible même si j'aurai aimé des aiguilles plus visibles encore. Coté précision rien à redire, le MBP1000 tient ses promesses. Depuis une dizaine de jour que je la porte quotidiennement, la dérive constatée est plutôt bonne et tourne aux alentours de +8s par jour mais je dois pouvoir encore optimiser cette dérive en lui trouvant une position plus avantageuse pour dormir car au poignet elle tourne à -1s. Fait plutôt appréciable, le remontage à la couronne est d'une grande douceur. Bref, je suis conquis par cette acquisition.
