In the early 1960's, YEMA started to work on a professional dive watch project designed for the general public. In 1963 YEMA proudly launched the very first 990 feet water resistant non-military dive watch, something revolutionary at that time, hence the nickname Superman.
This Superman Heritage 63 Limited Edition pays tribute to the historic model by recreating the original design and the professional diving features which have nowadays become essential on most dive watches. The screw-down crown, the crown guards and YEMA's proprietary bezel-lock designed as a triple safety when underwater, made of the Superman an unique diver back in the 1960's.
In line with YEMA's Heritage collection spirit, this reissue features a sapphire bezel reminiscent of the vintage acrylic / bakelite ones, as well as the iconic “shovel” seconds hand of the Superman.
Les aiguilles et les index sont revêtus de Super-LumiNova. La Superman héritage Blue offre donc une parfaite lisibilité dans l'obscurité.
This Swiss movement is mostly recognised for its reliability. With 26 Ruby jewels, it beats at 28,800 A/h and offers a power reserve of 38 hours
The unidirectional sapphire count-up bezel with black aluminium insert ensures an unique retro look similar to the vintage models
The unique Superman bezel-lock at 3 o'clock has proven very useful to professional divers and is found on all Superman models since 1963
The Superman Heritage 63 features a high-quality double domed sapphire crystal offering better readability underwater as well as enhanced resistance
The 1970's iconic chromed seconds hand with its head shaped like a shovel adds a distinct Heritage touch to this historic reissue
The anti-corrosion 316 L stainless steel band with secure-lock comes with a divers extension so you can adjust it easily and quickly over a diving suit
The 316L Steel caseback proudly displays YEMA's historic crest beautifully embossed with a hydraulic press. Each of the two diameter variants is engraved with a unique number from 0001 to 1000.
The "Skin Diver" mention pays tribute to YEMA's first dive watches from the 1950's which inspired the creation of the Superman 1963 dial.
The hands, dial markers and bezel graduation are treated with Swiss Super-LumiNova so as to offer perfect readability in low light conditions
