The new Superman Heritage Blue recreates the classic features of the original model with its distinct blue dial, oversized square markers and the iconic "shovel" seconds hand. The sapphire, scratch-resistant bezel recalls the ancient glossy bakelite resin bezel. The steel case has been refined and slightly extended to accommodate a Sellita SW200-1 Swiss movement. With its emblematic YEMA bezel-lock mechanism and with a 990 feet / 300 meters water-resistance, the Superman is designed for underwater diving. The domed crystal contributes to the unique and resolutely vintage look.
Les aiguilles et les index sont revêtus de Super-LumiNova. La Superman héritage Blue offre donc une parfaite lisibilité dans l'obscurité.
This Swiss movement is mostly recognised for its reliability. With 26 Ruby jewels, it beats at 28,800 A/h and offers a power reserve of 38 hours.

I have to confess I own too many watches. How can it be this latest addition Is all I really needed
What a lovely modern-vintage watch, I really like the stacked sandwich effect of the case and the domed sapphire crystal. The quality and finishing of the 39mm case is very good and the bracelet is decent as well. I adore the striking sunburst of the dial. Depending on the light the dial shifts from blue to a deep sea blue with hints of purple. The chunky indexes and the iconic seconds hand complete the overall look. I highly recommend this sexy looking timepiece.
I am a person who collects watches since the age of 7. Usually I don’t consider technical requirements as much as design, but I insist on having mechanical time pieces, since I consider these as much bigger value. In this short review I will explain my feelings and thoughts about the Yema Superman Heritage Blue, after owning it for 1 week. 1. Why I bought it? I bought it because I lusted after a slightly high-end timepiece which is a bit different from the swiss standard affair, and also has a nice heritage attached to it. This is true, you can read on forums about people who looked up veterans, owners of the original watch from the seventies and they indeed still exist and many of them still keep the watches. Also the price of an original piece from that period is much higher than the retail price, of course this is for those watches that survived in a good shape and are still functioning well. 2. What happened after I bought it ? This week for me was a roller coaster of happenings. I made a professional photoshoot for this watch, I researched many other watches in this area, and I also participated on some intense debates on the Yema Watch Club owners facebook group. 3. Design & Quality For me, this design works. I knew from my previous watches (some of them still in my collection) that I like shiny objects rather than matted out surfaces, so the Heritage Blue was the most close to this paradigm. Also the blue dial was kind of a surprise because it’s nothing like you're going to see in the insta pictures and marketing images. It is somewhat less intense, but I don’t see this as a negative, it’s rather understated, and easier to match it up with clothing of different colours. It also changes it’s hues depending the temperature of the light hitting it’s surface. I absolutely love the hands and the markings on the dial, I love the movement of the bezel, although many people complain about not aligning perfectly and all that fuss. I even enjoy setting the time and winding up the watch, the mechanical feedback is pretty nice. 4. Performance & Reliability This was rather an interesting turn in my journey of getting used to the Yema watch. First I observed that the movement is way out of the specs in terms of accuracy. The Yema website mentions ±12 seconds as normal, but mine is consistently performing around +20 or even a little bit more. After researching this a bit, I came to know, that my automatic winder mechanism is not winding the watch up enough, this causing a higher frequency of the balance wheel, therefore ending up with the before mentioned accuracy. I am happy though, I won’t return the watch, I rather prefer to experiment on how to regulate the watch by placing it in different positions during the night etc. 5. Wearability Guys, my wrist is only 17cm (or 6.7inch) in diameter and is also of bony structure, therefore regrettably I had to switch from the metal bracelet to a rubber one, because it was utterly uncomfortable on my hand. Also it was considerable heavy. I do like more the rubber band that comes with the watch, I think it’s a smooth rubber and also works out well on my hand, and I feel like I am very very comfortable with this setup. In addition I ordered the brown leather strap, just because I can’t wait to see the beautiful contrast between the blue dial and the brown strap. 6. Conclusion For a person who is into watches, but most of the time-pieces that he owns are under 2–300$, this watch is a great road opener from many perspectives. Studying the accuracy problem, reading about history, understanding the diver complication etc etc, it’s a wonderful way to start the journey. I definitely don’t regret my money spent on this watch, and more so, I feel I have a special bond with this watch.
I have had my Superman Heritage Blue for nearly a year, and still enjoy it as much as I did the day it arrived here in Canada from France. I have the smaller sized one, as I’d gotten mine prior to Yema offering a larger size. I’m happy to own the size more faithful to the original 24.11.17 reference, since finding a vintage one is easier said than done. These timepieces are iconic, well made and very versatile. On a bracelet it will easily slip under the cuff of a dress shirt and is more than handsome enough to wear with a suit to the office or out for supper with someone special. On a NATO strap it looks ready to take on anything you have planned on a hot summer day in the sun at the beach, in the forest on a camping trip or in the backyard pool playing with your kids. This is a very handsome timepiece, but having been designed to be a tool-watch, it doesn’t need to be pampered with kid gloves. Some of the most handsome vintage examples I’ve encountered on Instagram over the last year have obviously been worn while working and playing hard, and look fantastic with a battle scars to remind you of the memorable moments it accompanied you through. Isn’t that one of the important reasons we wear a great watch? To remind us of cherished snapshots in time? Mine will eventually end up on the wrist of one of my sons, and will serve to remind them how much their father loved them, and it will still look great doing it. I cannot recommend these enough. Do yourself a favour, get one.
